Hot Properties: Greer buys property for fire station

The city of Greer has closed on a parcel of land intended for a new fire station.

The city purchased the approximately 4.5 acres of land for $910,000 and closed on the agreement on Nov. 3. The land parcel is located adjacent to current city property at the corner of Suber Road and Chick Springs Road.

“As the city of Greer continues to see unprecedented growth, it is crucial that we ensure our public services keep pace,” City Administrator Andrew Merriman said in a news release. “This acquisition is just one step in the right direction to provide continued quality of life and public safety services for our community.”

The site is intended for a new fire station and for the expansion of the current park and soccer complex, the news release said. The fire station will replace the current Hood Road location and allow for quicker deployment and response times from the Greer Fire Department, the city says. Additionally, it will allow the Greer to redevelop the current Hood Road site to serve as a more complete and functional training facility.

“This acquisition allows the city to continue to improve the emergency services it provides to the community,” Greer Fire Chief Dorian Flowers said in the release.

Other recent expansions include the acquisition of the former Pelham-Batesville Fire Station on Highway 14 and a partnership with the Taylors Fire Department Rescue Station 3 on St. Mark Road.

Jordan Skellie and Elledge Willis of Lee & Associates Greenville/Spartanburg represented the landlord, JOJAD LLC in leasing 80,000 square feet at 130 Derrick Road in Spartanburg. The tenant was True Timber Outdoors Holding Co. LLC.

Hunter Garrett, John Staunton and Alex Johnson of NAI Earle Furman represented the tenant, The Source Group, in leasing a 21,150-square-foot industrial building in Suite Bay 3 at 2605 Anderson Road in Greenville from Mauldin Heights Apts 1 LLC.

Keith Jones and McNeil Epps of NAI Earle Furman represented the tenant, Prosource LLC, in subleasing a 12,921-square-foot office space at 3 Independence Pointe, Suite 101, Greenville, from TBC Corp.

Katherine Fulmer of NAI Earle Furman represented the landlord, Sllim LLC, in leasing a 650-square-foot retail space in Suite B at 159 South Pine St. in Spartanburg to Meridian Support Services LLC.

Earle Furman of NAI Earle Furman represented the seller, First-Citizens Bank and Trust Co., in the sale of an 11,546-square-foot retail property at 1450 John B. White Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg.

Knox Duncan of Huff Creek Properties, the timber and recreational land division of NAI Earle Furman, represented the seller, Regina Farish, in the sale of a 64.76-acre investment property at 805 Breazeale Road in Pendleton to Ireland LLC.

Lynn Spencer of Spencer Hines-Spartanburg assisted in a $2.8 million deal for 21,000 square feet of retail space on 1.89 acres at 551 E. Main St. in Spartanburg. Converse MT LLC bought the property from Converse Corners on Main LLC.

Ben Hines and Andy Hayes, agents for Spencer Hines-Spartanburg, helped with the sale of 4.6 acres of land at 117 Miller Farm Road in Inman. Benjamin S. Willard sold the property to QI for Georgia Rd/Neely Ferry LLC.
