The Cliffs plans mixed-use development at Mountain Park

The Cliffs — seven private mountain and lake residential communities in the Upstate — is planning a mixed-use development adjacent to The Cliffs at Mountain Park.

The development, called The Village at Mountain Park, will sit on 18 acres at the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 11. The development is a partnership between The Cliffs and Fairview Builders.

According to a news release, plans for the development include residential, commercial, retail, medical and office space as well as an independent and assisted living facility, bed and breakfast and a market square with commercial and retail development.

“We have long anticipated this type of growth for Mountain Park and are pleased to have a great alliance to realize the vision,” said Kent Smith, president of Cliffs Land Partners, in the release. “The Village at Mountain Park will be a tremendous asset not only to the members of The Cliffs communities, but the greater northern Greenville county suburbs, who can enjoy the many new businesses it will bring to the area. It will be a beautiful space for living, gathering and socializing.”

The site currently has existing businesses like three medical facilities, a building company and two facilities associated with The Cliffs development. As part of the development, owners said they plan to install new signage, gates and landscaping at the site. They also said The Village at Mountain Park will be open to the public during the day and closed to non-residents in the evenings and overnight.

“Our goal with The Village at Mountain Park is to offer a smart, convenient, suburban lifestyle destination within a short distance to downtown Greenville,” said Steve Hamblen of Fairview Builders, in the release.

Groundbreaking for the new development is planned for after the first of the year.
