Charlotte specialty food company opening Greenville location

Reid’s Fine Foods is making plans to open a Greenville location this summer. It will be the fifth store for the Charlotte-based company, according to a news release, and the first in South Carolina.

The Greenville location of the specialty food store will be 1 N. Laurens St., in the One City Plaza downtown.

The Greenville store will serve breakfast, coffee, lunch and dinner daily with about 75 seats inside at a wine bar and 75 seats on a patio, the release said. The store will provide catering services, an espresso and coffee bar, butcher shop, bakery, retail wine, and an assortment of Carolina-based products.  

Reid’s Fine Foods has been in business for 90 years, the release said.

“We’ve been contemplating expanding outside of Charlotte for some time now and considering we are from South Carolina — my wife and I are both Furman grads and we have family in Greenville — that was a logical first step for us,” Tom Coker, managing partner of Reid’s Fine Foods, said in the news release. “We are very familiar with the market there and look forward to bringing Reid’s Fine Foods to Greenville to complement their booming food scene.”
