Broadband Infrastructure Inc. has purchased Absolute Technologies LLC, a specialty contractor in structured cabling infrastructure. Carolina Underground Solutions, an underground telecommunications contractor, was already part of Broadband Infrastructure Inc.

All three companies are headquartered at 24 Concourse Way in Greer.

These companies together will continue serve commercial and government customers with an array of broadband infrastructure solutions, according to a news release.

“We are honored to join forces with Absolute Technologies,” Brad Cunningham, CEO and president of Broadband Infrastructure Inc, said in the release. He said the companies have “complementary technical service offerings for customers, allowing us to do more for clients.”

Cunningham said growing market demand bodes well for the work the companies do.

“There is a perfect storm of new communication technology — 5-G technology — and exploding demand for broadband and it requires a lot of fiber backbone and structured cabling,” he said in the release. “The telecoms are tasked with building the infrastructure to meet the exploding demand for broadband fueled by an ever-increasing array of streaming devices, from smartphones to robotics, and manufacturing controls. All of these factors drive exponentially the need here in the Southeast for the services and products that our companies offer.”

Carolina Underground installs underground fiber optic cabling in a three-state area. Absolute Technologies LLC specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems for new buildings and tenant improvements.
