Kelley Engineering, a designer and manufacturer of custom automation equipment, will invest $6 million in a new build-to-print facility set to create 80 jobs.

Founded in 2015, Kelley Engineering provides automation equipment, computer numerical control machining and metal fabrication for a variety of industries across the Southeast, including aerospace, automotive, injection molding, packaging and tires, according to a news release.

“We are excited about this next chapter for Kelley Engineering. This latest expansion will give us a combined 82,000 square feet which will allow us to expand our manufacturing and automation capabilities,” Matt Kelley, CEO of the company, said in the release. “Growing up in Anderson County, I knew this was an awesome community to raise a family, but I have also seen how great it is to grow a business. It is easy to buy a building and equipment, but the people you hire are what make a company great. Our company culture of hiring good people and promoting within has really made us stand out and be successful in this competitive market. We are looking forward to providing many more good-paying jobs as we continue to grow.”

Located at 1709 Easley Highway in Pelzer, Kelley Engineering’s newest facility will accommodate growth to meet increasing demand.

“We are so excited to have a homegrown principal growing his company in Anderson County,” Anderson County Councilmember Cindy Wilson said in the release. “I’m always thankful for increased jobs, capital investment and growth in our tax base.”

The expansion is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2023.
