ChargePoint, a California-based electric vehicle charging network with over 200,000 private, public, and commercial ports in North America and Europe, has opened its first East Coast office in Greenville.

A ribbon-cutting event was held last week at the office, 1122 S. Main St., that included South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and ChargePoint’s Global vice president for Fleet Rich Mohr, among others, according to a ChargePoint news release.

“While ChargePoint was born and bred in California, we are proud to have a global reach and charged up to open our first East Coast office here in South Carolina,” said Mohr in the release. “As the United States reaches the electric vehicle ‘tipping point,’ this expansion marks a new phase of growth for ChargePoint. We look forward to continuing to scale our business to meet the surge in demand for EV charging equipment and drive the all-electric movement forward.”

ChargePoint invested $250,000 to build out this new office in Greenville, which will include nearly 20 employees with multiple skills and backgrounds in EV charging deployments, the release stated.

As ChargePoint expands into Greenville, the company also plans to double down on its commitment to cities – helping to make sure buses and other fleets that city dwellers rely on can go electric and creating charging solutions for multifamily buildings, the release stated.
