Corsica Technologies CEO Brian Harmison said the company chose Greenville and the Upstate because the region is undoubtedly growing and brings a unique energy.

“This is a chance for us to really get to know and engage with Greenville businesses in and around the community,” said Harmison. “We are strongly positioned to support many businesses here. We’ve had an office here for quite some time, but it hasn’t been invested in or grown that much. We see a lot of opportunity to expand from here in adjacent markets.”

Harmison, who started out in software development, joined the company 10 years ago after Corsica acquired three companies, one of which was his.

Cybersecurity has been Corsica’s main focus because of its growth potential here with new and existing businesses, said Harmison, focusing on primarily the manufacturing industry but also health care, non-profit and education, and finance and banking.

“Why I’m most passionate about this industry is we have so many opportunities to impact people every day,” Harmison said. “I joke we are in the ‘problem-solving business,’ but with that, every interaction we have, we have the opportunity to improve the quality of somebody’s day and help them be more productive and feel more confident.”
