The city of Greenville and Arnett Muldrow & Associates, the Greenville-based consulting firm hired to provide planning services for the Wade Hampton Boulevard Strategic Plan, will kick off a public input process on Tuesday, May 29, to gather community feedback on the future of Wade Hampton Boulevard.

The first opportunity for public input is between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the first-floor conference room of City Hall.  Later in the day, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., a public meeting will be held in the Dining Common at Bob Jones University. And on Wednesday, May 30, a drop-in will be held from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at City Hall.

The feedback received from the meetings will be used to generate reality-based design concepts and recommendations for future improvements, according to Emelie Hegarty, Greenville’s economic development marketing analyst.

“This public input process is exciting because it is designed to be inclusive and responsive,” Hegarty said, in a news release. “The ideas and input received from the general public, stakeholder groups and technical experts will come to life in the resulting strategic plan.”

In addition to the final strategic plan, the consultant team also will provide several key deliverables throughout the process, including a market assessment, renderings and conceptual plans of key projects, an overall illustrative plan, policy recommendations and an action-based implementation strategy, the release said.
