Motorists alerted to Gateway Project closures

Listen to this articleTemporary closures and detours of both directions of Interstate 385 at the Interstate 85 interchange will occur this weekend for the installation of new ramp girders as part of the I-85/385 Gateway Project, according to a news release.
Traffic on I-385 Northbound will be detoured at Exit 36A to 85 Northbound, turned around at the S.C. Highway 14 bridge (Exit 56) to 85 Southbound, then directed back to 385 Northbound at Exit 51C. Traffic on 385 Southbound will be detoured at Exit 36B to 85 Southbound, turned around at Laurens Road/U.S. Highway 276 (Exit 48A) to 85 Northbound, then directed back to 385 southbound at Exit 51B.
The times for the closures and detours are:
- 9 p.m., Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
- 11:30 p.m., Saturday to 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
- 9 p.m., Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
