Fastest-growing Upstate businesses make national list

Out of the 63 South Carolina businesses featured in Inc.’s 5,000 2020’s list of fastest-growing private companies, 21 are headquartered in Greenville, Spartanburg, Greer and Piedmont.

The annual report, first established in 1982 as the 500 fastest growing companies, ranks businesses across the nation by three-year percentage revenue growth from 2016 to 2019.

According to the report, featured South Carolina businesses saw a 157% increase in growth and brought in $2 billion in revenue to the state along with an additional 3,309 jobs.

Companies in the Greenville metro market — excluding Spartanburg companies — witnessed a 137% spike in growth this year through $924.2 million in total revenue and 1,467 new jobs. Sixteen of the companies are located in Greenville.
