The Greenville Area Development Corp., also known as GADC, reports Greenville County had 17 announcements in 2018 that totaled $162 million in capital investments. The investments created 1,477 jobs at wages averaging nearly 18% higher than state averages, according to a news release.

Mark Farris, GADC president and CEO, said that in 2018 there also were “significant advances in product development and business park additions, office recruitment, partnering connectivity and cooperation, and land use planning advocacy to help create a sustainable community tax base.”

The 2018 numbers were revealed during the GADC annual luncheon, during which John Moore, CEO of Next, received the GADC Chairman’s Award.

Since its founding in mid-2001, the GADC has helped facilitate the creation of more than 27,000 new jobs and in excess of $4.9 billion in capital investment in Greenville County, the release said.
