The Greenville Chamber of Commerce and CommunityWorks presented six Excellence in Entrepreneurship Small Business awards on Tuesday as part of National Small Business Week.

Presenting sponsors for the event were InstantHR and Wells Fargo.

  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by InstantHR, was presented to Bo Stegall, owner of Bo Stegall The Salon and Bo Stegall The Collection.
  • Minority-Owned Business of the Year, sponsored by Wells Fargo, was given to A. Smith Clothiers, owned by Arthur L. Smith.
  • Eugenia Duke Woman-Owned Business of the Year, sponsored by Duke Brands, was presented to Corporate Stitch, owned by Dionne Sandiford.
  • The Entrepreneurial Success Award, sponsored by GSA Business Report, was awarded to Andrew Kurtz, president and CEO of Kopis.
  • Small Business Champion Award, sponsored by Greenville Technical College, was presented to Traci Newkirk, president of Intellectual Capitol.
  • My Favorite Upstate Small Business, a people’s choice award sponsored by Piedmont Natural Gas, was given to Cassy Electric and owner Cassandra Brayboy.

CommunityWorks and the Greenville Chamber are hosting an Excellence in Entrepreneurship Small Business Seminar on Thursday, May 9, as part of National Small Business Week. The half-day seminar will provide educational opportunities and guidance to local entrepreneurs and small business owners. The event will be held at Embassy Suites Verdae from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
