The Spinx Co. celebrated the opening of its newest store in Oconee County on July 19. Situated at 180 S. Highway 11, West Union, the new location is the 83rd site for the Greenville-based fuel and convenience retailer.
“At Spinx, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers by offering top-notch service, quality products, and a pleasant shopping experience,” Steve Spinks, CEO and president of The Spinx Co., said in a news release. “We are excited to expand our footprint in Oconee County and become a valued member of the local community.”
In addition to the usual convenience items, the store will serve Spinx’s fried chicken, chicken biscuits and chicken tenders. Customers also can purchase fountain drinks, lemonade, iced tea with Spinx’s popular “chewy ice,” in addition to soft serve ice cream and hand-spun milkshakes, the news release stated. Hot beverages, including bean-to-cup fresh coffee and Nitro Cold Brew, will also be available for purchase.
Founded in 1972 with a single store in Greenville, the company now is the largest privately held retail employer in the state, with 83 locations and 50 car washes across the state.
