OnTrack Greenville announced it is one of five organizations to receive one of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina’s strategic grants for 2018. OnTrack Greenville is a community initiative to ensure middle school students stay on track toward high school graduation and post-secondary success.

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has worked for the past 22 years to reduce poverty across the state through action, advocacy and leadership, according to a news release. Its strategic grant funding selection process is invitation-only for organizations working to affect organizational and community impact at the regional and state level.

In addition to OnTrack Greenville, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awarded strategic grants to Homes of Hope, Homeless No More, Metanoia and The Sustainability Institute (in partnership with Home Works of America), the release said. As of 2017, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded more than 2,900 grants to 1,000 organizations, totaling more than $67 million.

This is the third year OnTrack Greenville has received a Strategic grant from the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, according to the release. OnTrack Greenville was awarded, in part, due to its innovative, evidence-based dropout prevention and school transformation model designed to systematically address the challenges of poverty in schools by leveraging data and relationships to keep students on track to high school graduation.
