Spartanburg’s Ritrama Inc. has developed an antimicrobial film to prevent bacterial infection within educational environments and other high-contact locations.

“Ritrama is committed to helping our community during these unprecedented times and facilitate the reopening of schools, so to have our economy restarting,” CEO Lucio Siano said in the release.

The pressure sensitive material manufacturer’s Ri-Guard products are self-adhesive, created to be used on desks, counters, chairs, switches, doors and other high-touch surfaces to halt the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi or other microbes, according to the release.

The Moore-based company moved its North American Headquarters to Spartanburg County in 2018 and manufactures commercial labels, tape, film and other adhesive products.
