Homes for Heroes wraps up with start of construction
Duke Energy, Greenville Drive and Habitat for Humanity recently kicked off construction of a home for a Greenville family. Duke Energy pledged $25,000 toward the construction of the home for Ty and Felicia Rush, a local Marine Corps veteran family.
The start of construction marked the end of the season-long Home Runs for Heroes fundraising campaign. Other major donors for the Homes for Heroes effort included John I. Smith Charities, Bank of America, BMW Manufacturing, Piedmont Natural Gas and the Grainger Foundation, with support from the Forestry Association of South Carolina, Starr Electric and the Furman University student chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
