Fall for Greenville grant supports A Child’s Haven

A Child’s Haven has a new freezer courtesy of a $5,000 grant from BB&T Fall for Greenville presented by Pepsi. The new addition is already helping lower food costs, according to a news release.

“This freezer saved us $500 in August. I was able to order in bulk and skip a delivery to avoid a food distributor’s delivery fee. At this rate, this freezer will pay for itself within a year,” said John Zuber, chef at A Child’s Haven, in the release.

Meals served by A Child’s Haven are prepared using United States Department of Agriculture recipes and menus are approved by the Department of Social Services and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, according to the release. A Child’s Haven also partners with LiveWell Greenville to help children and families understand the importance of healthy eating and active living.
