WJ Partners, a Spartanburg-based private investment firm, has sold its interest in Mobile Communications America to Sentinel Capital Partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Since being acquired by WJ Partners in 2013, Mobile Communications America has completed 16 add-on acquisitions and grown from a business with 75 employees across four service locations into the largest service provider for Motorola Solutions in the U.S., with more than 500 employees across 41 service locations in seven states, according to a news release.

Executive Chairman Mark Blackman and CEO Vince Foody, the executive team installed by WJ Partners, will continue to lead the company, the release said.

“We are extremely pleased with the success Mark and Vince have achieved for MCA over the past six years as they built an outstanding team, established a culture of growth, and completed 16 acquisitions,” Benjamin Wall, co-founder and managing partner of WJ Partners, said in the news release. “We are confident MCA has found a great new partner that will help the company build on the solid foundation it has created.”

BlackArch Partners served as financial advisor to WJ Partners on the transaction. McGuireWoods provided legal counsel.

WJ Partners is a private investment firm focused on building lower and middle market companies.
