Furman University Women’s Leadership Institute accepts applications

Furman University’s Women’s Leadership Institute has opened the application and nomination window for its virtual “Leading in Times of Crisis” program starting in March.

Program curriculum, including seminars from female business and community leaders, will cover topics including self-awareness, emotional quotient, negotiation and conflict resolution and leading teams to help rising and experienced executives and managers achieve organizational goals and inspire followers, according to Furman’s website.

“Today’s research supports that as women ascend into leadership roles, key factors in workplace satisfaction and longevity include: the increased desire to engage in education, enhancing professional influence, honing critical thinking and decision-making abilities and applying high levels of emotional intelligence,” said a statement from university’s Center for Corporate and Professional Development.

The cost of the competitive program is $1,499 per person and some scholarship may be offered. Applications and tuition for the program are due by Feb. 26.

Past graduates include leaders in at least 22 Upstate companies and organizations ranging from BMW to Lockheed Martin to United Way.
