Avelo Airlines is expanding its Upstate South Carolina presence with the addition of two new exclusive nonstop flights.

Avelo is adding flights from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and New York’s Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC), according to an Avelo Airlines news release.

This is the first and only airline offering nonstop service between those two cities and GSP, the news release stated. The new routes are joining Avelo’s third nonstop route to Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in southern Connecticut.

“GSP – We’re back with new routes. We’re excited to introduce nonstop service to the Manchester-Boston region and Rochester, N.Y.,” said Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy in the release. “Whether visiting friends and family, traveling for business, or enjoying a leisurely vacation, Avelo offers time and money-saving convenience for our Upstate South Carolina customers. These two exclusive nonstop routes will also make exploring Greenville/Spartanburg’s Southern hospitality, scenic views and attractions a fast and seamless journey for Northeast visitors.”

Avelo will operate the routes twice weekly, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Introductory one-way fares start at $62. Customers can make reservations at AveloAir.com. Flight information below:

Flights to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport begin May 10 and take off twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

Flights to Frederick Douglas Greater Rochester International airport begin May 9, operating weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

“We are thrilled to welcome Avelo’s growth at GSP,” GSP President and CEO Dave Edwards said in the release. “Since their launch in 2023, GSP passengers have embraced their low fares and quality service. These new routes offer even more exciting opportunities for tourism to and from two additional popular destinations in the Northeast.”

Avelo customers can change or cancel their itineraries with no extra fees, the release said. Additionally, families with children 14 and under will be automatically seated with an accompanying adult at no additional cost. The airline also offers advanced seat assignments for sale.

In 2023, Avelo had the lowest flight cancellation rate in the U.S. airline industry and ranked No. 2 in on-time reliability, the release said.

Avelo serves 48 destinations across the United States, including its six bases at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), Orlando International Airport (MCO), the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), and opening in May 2024, the San Francisco Bay Area’s Sonoma County Airport (STS).
