Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina is relocating their Gaffney Retail Store to a new, more accessible location at 1320 W. Floyd Baker Blvd.

Sossamon Construction provided renovation and new construction services for the site. Architects were Langley & Associates of Greenville.

Scheduled to open April 10, the new Goodwill stands only 807 feet from the previous location at 1307 W. Floyd Baker Blvd. This new store is designed to offer an improved shopping experience for customers while helping the community through their expanded Job Connection space, according to a news release.

The relocation of the store represents a significant milestone for Goodwill Industries of the Upstate/Midlands, marking a strategic step forward in its commitment to serving the Gaffney community. With the expanded space, customers can expect a wider selection of merchandise, including clothing, furniture, electronics, housewares and more.

The 14,221-square-foot location also will house a Job Connection, Goodwill’s public program that connects thousands of South Carolinians each year with free career services. The organization currently operates more than 20 Job Connection centers throughout the Upstate and Midlands, where job seekers can find employment leads and referrals, resume support, free coaching and skills training.

“We are thrilled to relocate our Gaffney store to this new, more prominent location,” Pat Michaels, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina. “Goodwill deeply values the support and spirit of the Gaffney community, and we are excited to continue serving and empowering individuals here in this new space. This move underscores our dedication to serving the community by providing an improved shopping experience while also supporting our goal of helping individuals overcome barriers to employment.”

The new store and donation center hours of operation will remain Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Job Connection hours will be Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 9 p.m. on April 10 at the site. The store will open the next morning at 9.

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina has 40 retail stores across 16 counties in the Upstate and Midlands.
