A Greenville doughnut shop will be opening a second location this spring.

Scout’s Doughnuts teamed up with Run In’s new location in downtown Anderson at 120 E. Earle St. — where Scout’s will be operating at the front half of the store come April 13.

“We personally love to run and Run In has been helping us run faster for almost 10 years,” said co-owner Ryland Rainsford. “We also believe that health is a whole person thing — physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual. We can’t recommend eating two of our doughnuts every day, but we do believe in running hard and enjoying something sweet with someone you love every once in a while.

“So, when Run In approached us about pairing our companies together in a storefront, we immediately knew that we could take two great things and make it sweeter together — something that the whole community could enjoy.”

Scout’s, which is known for its layered croissant-style doughnuts, opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Greenville’s Overbrook neighborhood less than a year ago.

Ryland and J.P. Rainsford launched straight into corporate careers after college and quickly decided two things: their vocations should be a purposeful and meaningful part of our lives, and they want to do as much life together as possible with each other and their kids.

The Rainsfords say not to feel guilty about enjoying something sweet at Scout’s. They believe health is larger than simply eating nutritional foods — that enjoying something sweet every once in a while can be good for your mental health and for a balanced lifestyle.

“Expect great things,” said Rainsford. “We are in the midst of planning a grand opening with door prizes, swag, merch, special flavors and more. We are so excited.”

When asked if there any plans to expand further at this time, Rainsford said, “No comment. Time will tell.”
