Patients and visitors to Spartanburg Medical Center will find the traffic flow has changed with the permanent closure of Catawba Street. Spartanburg Regional HealthCare System and the city of Spartanburg have created a new central crosswalk as part of the health system’s Master Facility Plan.
Catawba Street was the main entrance into the outpatient center from Church Street. Visitors and patients will now use Boone Drive to access the Regional Outpatient Center parking lot, according to a news release.
The healthcare system has launched a multi-phase traffic calming project that may cause some short-term inconveniences for patients and visitors into early 2020, the release said.
