Summit brings all things automotive to Greenville

The South Carolina Automotive Summit is underway at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville. The event is organized by the S.C. Automotive Council, a division of the S.C. Manufacturer’s Alliance.

With South Carolina’s automotive industry realizing an annual state economic impact of $27 billion and employing 158,000 South Carolinians, the summit plays a vital role in bringing automotive industry leaders together, according to a news release. Attendees engage with thought leaders, participate in business to business opportunities, explore new technologies and gain workforce development insights. Additionally, participants get to hear the latest news on NAFTA, as well as the join the discussion on the changing role of supply chains and factories of the future. 

“We are excited to host our seventh annual automotive summit, which has continued to grow alongside our state’s robust automotive industry,” said Sara Hazzard, president and CEO of the S.C. Manufacturer's Alliance, in the release. “Our event has a global reach and we look forward to showcasing our state and its achievements to our attendees.”  

Keynote speakers include Knudt Flor, president and CEO of BMW Manufacturing Co. and Katarina Fjording, vice president, purchasing and manufacturing, Americas, Volvo Car U.S. operations.

Panelists and presenters represent companies and organizations including Apprenticeship Carolina, the Center for Manufacturing Innovation, KPMG and Sage Automotive Interiors.
