Countybank and Greenwood Capital donated $47,002 as part of their annual campaign to United Way of Greenville County. Associates from both organizations made personal pledge donations totaling $37,002 as part of the employee campaign, while the Countybank Foundation provided an additional campaign contribution of $10,000, according to a news release.

“The incredible generosity from the team at Countybank and Greenwood Capital will change so many individual lives and strengthen our entire community in the process,” United Way of Greenville County President and CEO Meghan Barp said in the news release. “We are proud to partner with them to build a Greenville County where everyone can thrive.”

Dollars raised in the campaign will support United Way’s goal to build a cycle of success for everyone in Greenville County, which includes investments in more than 100 programs and initiatives addressing basic needs, education and financial stability, according to the release. Each year, United Way investments touch the lives of 100,000 people in Greenville County.

“This year’s annual campaign results exceeded last year’s donations by more than $11,000, which shows Countybank and Greenwood Capital’s ongoing commitment to United Way of Greenville County and the Upstate community,” Lisa Gilstrap, mortgage consultant with Countybank Mortgage, said in the release. She also leads Countybank’s campaign efforts.

Countybank and Greenwood Capital hold an annual campaign that gives associates an opportunity to support United Way. The organizations also host a monthly “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, where associates can dress business casual the first Friday of each month in exchange for a donation to United Way.

“Partnering with United Way of Greenville County allows our associates to be involved and invested in how we as an organization give back to our community,” Ken Harper, executive vice president and COO of Countybank, said in the release. Harper also serves on the board of directors for United Way of Greenville County. “United Way has such a positive impact across the Greenville area, and we’re proud to support that effort.”
