United Way of Greenville County receives $25,000 grant from bank

The Truist Financial Corp.’s charitable arm, The Truist Foundation, donated $25,000 to United Way of Greenville County for its work in boosting the economic mobility of individuals and families in the county.

“We are so appreciative of the generosity of the Truist Foundation as we work together to change lives and strengthen our community,” Meghan Barp, president and CEO of United Way of Greenville County said in a news release today. “Truist Foundation’s focus on economic mobility and their mission to build thriving communities make them perfect partners for our work, and we thank them for their incredible support of United Way.”

The Truist Foundation grant will be used to directly support the economic mobility work of United Way, as the organization leads and invests in programs and initiatives in education, financial stability and building vibrant and equitable communities, according to the release.

“At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities,” Michael Brenan, South Carolina regional president for Truist, said in the release. “I’m proud of our partnership with United Way of Greenville County, and I look forward to continuing our aligned missions to increase economic mobility.”

Established in 2020, the Truist Foundation makes strategic investments in nonprofit organizations to help ensure the communities it serves have more opportunities for a better quality of life. The Truist Foundation’s grants and activities focus on leadership development, economic mobility, thriving communities and educational equity, according to the release.
