“We are proud to officially open our first South Carolina branch to customers,” Scott Frierson, president of The Southern Bank, said in a news release. “Greenville is my hometown and the community in which many of our employees have lived for generations, and we look forward to serving this community with modern banking solutions and with our personal service and a touch of Southern hospitality.”

The branch is located across the street from Sirrine Stadium. The bank renovated the space to create offices, meeting spaces and a safekeeping room with deposit boxes. This location includes a double-lane drive-thru, ATM and a night drop. The Greenville branch will provide services including business and consumer checking and savings accounts, loans and treasury services focusing on developing the Greenville market with loans and deposits, the news release said.

The bank is beginning renovations on a newly acquired Spartanburg location this month and plans to open it by the end of the year, the release said.
