Katie Davenport has been named executive director of Greenwood Promise, a scholarship program that pays the difference in tuition expenses after other scholarships, grants and awards have been applied.
Davenport is a native of Greenwood County and graduate of Ninety-Six High School. She is a graduate of Clemson University and previously worked as a cytogenetic technologist at the Greenwood Genetic Center before becoming a science teacher at Westview Middle School. While teaching she earned graduate degrees in education from Walden University and Grand Canyon University, according to a news release.
