One of the founding partners of the House of Blues is bringing a new music venue to Greenville: Trueline.

Trueline founder and CEO Michael Grozier, who has been in the industry for 40 years, will be opening the flagship venue in downtown.

The 25,000 square foot venue will be located at 401 Rhett St. in a building that has been unused for years. Renovations are slated to begin in September and the venue is anticipated to be open at the end of 2024.

Grozier said he discovered Greenville from one of his other business partners and realized the amount of people who were driving through from Charlotte to Atlanta.

“I saw how beautiful the town is, one that can support strong music talent with the Peace Center and Bon Secours Wellness Arena,” he said. “I’m just trying to bring to town what I feel like is missing — a first-class music venue with the best music available. I think it’s a great time to be a music fan in the Upstate area.”

Given Grozier’s expertise in the music industry, he said he’s in tune with the fans in the market and bringing to town what they want to hear.

“Turning Greenville into a top-of-the-line live music town will take partnerships, so I’m inspired and excited about what’s going on here with The Foundry, the Peace Center, and the arena,” he said.”

Grozier said a general contractor for the renovations hasn’t been selected yet, but McMillan Pazdan Smith are the architects on record and the capital investment opportunity with Vicinity Capital.

“I am fired up to build something special here, and everything I’ve done up until this point in my career has come to this moment,” said Grozier. “I’m thrilled.”
