The development, including four stories of upscale apartments and retail space, will be built at the corners of Main, Jason and Cannon streets starting in the fourth quarter of 2020 under the purview of architect David Langley of Langley & Associates of Greer, according to a news release. A stand-alone brewery and restaurant are also set to occupy space in the roughly 5.3 acres developed for the project.

“Idea River Development LLC is proud to partner with the City of Greer, and participate in its continued transformation,” Keith Eades, owner and managing partner of company, said in the release.

A standalone brewery and restaurant are proposed to be built on the over 5 acre mixed-development property displayed in renderings by Langley & Associates Architecture. The return on CenterG’s investment has surpassed $100 million based on the value of renovated properties, ongoing projects and an incoming 108-room Hampton Inn, according to the release.

"This project was designed to transform our central business district for the next century,” Ed Driggers, city administrator of Greer, said in the release. “We knew from our previous downtown projects that public and private investments would follow the vision of the Center G project. It helped leverage such work as redevelopment by Tribe 513, Parkside Pediatrics, and Grace Church. It was the motivating factor for Sycamore Greer to commit to building a downtown hotel with an adjacent public parking deck.”
