The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation in Greenville has hired Jared Martin as Director of Development.

Martin will create, implement, and oversee the organization’s development strategy and its fundraising and communications plans. He will further the Foundation’s mission by building partnerships and relationships with donors, corporate partners and community foundations. Martin brings over 12 years of experience in management, philanthropy, and development.

“We are so pleased to welcome Jared to the team,” said Amanda Herlihy, Governor’s School Foundation executive director. “With his passion for the arts and education, and his extensive experience in fundraising, we know he will help advance the Foundation’s mission.”

“The Governor’s School Foundation is the perfect place to see talent fostered and futures defined. The entire state benefits from the work being done here,” said Martin.

Martin joins the Foundation from Switch in Greenville, SC, where he most recently served as the Development Director and was responsible for business development, donor cultivation, grant writing, and community relationship building which resulted in the organization’s first six-figure gift in its history.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Clemson University. Martin volunteers for Greenville County Schools and has previously held positions on the boards of the Furman University Paladin Club and Switch.

The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises money to support the Governor’s School. The foundation uses its resources to increase access to the school for students who need financial support, aid the school’s efforts to provide arts education in under-resourced counties, and bridge the gap between state funding and the unique needs of South Carolina’s premier public arts school.
