CPAs give $10K to Children’s Museum of the Upstate

The Piedmont chapter of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants has given $10,000 to the Children’s Museum of the Upstate for the museum’s Finances for the Family program.

The Finances for the Family program is a hands-on, family-based financial literacy series built to educate both parents and children.

“Their generosity and funding support has given the Children’s Museum of the Upstate the ability to empower parents and children with the outlook of a stable financial future,” said Nancy Halverson, museum president and CEO, in a news release. “During the past two years, this program has given participants hope, drive and understanding of the possibilities they will have if they can save, curb spending and make better choices financially.”

Since 2013, the S.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants has helped support the museum’s Money Works bank exhibit, which inspired the museum’s financial literacy programming, including Finances for the Family, according to the release.
