Artisphere gets grant from S.C. Arts Commission

Artisphere has been awarded a grant of $30,080 by the S.C. Arts Commission for 2019. The grant will help Artisphere make the arts accessible to all Greenville residents and visitors from across the region, as well as showcase the city’s local cultural offerings, according to a news release.

This year a commission grant helped Artisphere leverage more than $400,000 from corporations such as TD Bank, GE Energy, BMW Manufacturing and Michelin. The 2019 grant will be reinvested in the local and state economy to underwrite the cost to promote the festival.

This year an estimated 88,645 people attended Artisphere and spent just over $1 million purchasing original works of art from participating artists and made a more than $5.8 million economic impact on the Greenville community, according to the release.

The 15th Anniversary Artisphere presented by TD Bank is scheduled for May 10-12, 2019.
