AFL partnered with TreesGreenville for ReLEAF Day
Spartanburg-based AFL helped raise awareness for TreesUpstate’s urban forestry program by recently sponsoring and volunteering for TreesGreenville ReLEAF Day. On March 16, approximately 30 AFL employees, friends and family planted trees at Victor Park in Greer. Elsewhere in the Upstate, volunteers planted 150 trees in six sites around Greenville County, according to a news release.
“One aspect of AFL’s community outreach program is a commitment to preserving our environment,” said Corie Culp, community relations manager at AFL, in the release. “Partnering with TreesGreenville gives associates an opportunity to get involved in conservation efforts that make a difference right here in our local community.”
TreesGreenville is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. Their mission is to plant, promote and protect trees in Greenville County. TreesGreenville volunteers have helped plant more than 6,400 trees and logged more than 12,000 hours.
More than 360 volunteers including groups from BMW, AFL, KPMG, McMillan Pazdan Smith, DP3, GE, Furman University and Harper General Contractors participated in ReLEAF Day, the release said.
