Grill Marks at Haywood Mall to give back this weekend

Grill Marks at the Haywood Mall will donate 10% of all sales generated during tax free weekend, Aug. 2-4, to Tanglewood Middle School’s backpack program. Tanglewood Middle School partners annually with the Harvest Hope Food Bank to provide for children who are at risk of hunger with healthy, nutritious food to take home for the weekend, during school vacations and on holidays.

Backpacks and other containers are stocked with child-friendly, easy to prepare food. They are typically distributed on Fridays, or the last day children attend school for the week. The food packed typically covers dinner on Friday along with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for Saturday and Sunday for that specific child, according to a news release.

The donated funds from Grill Marks at the Haywood Mall will be utilized not only to offer food to children at the end of the week, but also during the school week.
