South Street Partners names new president at The Cliffs

The Cliffs and South Street Partners announced today that Rob Duckett will assume the role of president of The Cliffs and vice president of operations for South Street Partners, effective June 1. Duckett will oversee day-to-day operations of The Cliffs’ three divisions: Cliffs Clubs, Cliffs Land, and Cliffs Realty, according to a news release.

With more than 30 years of experience working in hospitality management and 23 years in private club management, Duckett joins The Cliffs after 16 years with Discovery Land Company. Most recently, Duckett served as general manager and chief executive officer of Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club in Cashiers, N.C., the release said. In addition to his position at Mountaintop, Duckett held various senior management roles at other Discovery Land communities including Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club in the Bahamas as well as the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Mont., and Chileno Bay Golf and Beach Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

“Adding Rob to the team is an important step in the initial phase of our long-range operating plan at The Cliffs,” Patrick Melton, managing partner at South Street Partners, said in the release. “In addition to his decades of experience, Rob has a proven track record of success in private club management at some of the nation’s most admired clubs. We look forward to his contributions as we continue to elevate all aspects of The Cliffs experience for current and future homeowners and members.”

South Street Partners announced March 1 that they had bought all seven of the properties known collectively as The Cliffs. Together they employ about 550 people in the region.
