The city of Greenville is again taking preventive measures to help manage traffic along Woodruff Road through the holiday season. Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 21, left turn movements will be restricted on Woodruff Industrial Lane near the intersection with Woodruff Road to improve congestion and safety. The plan is proposed to remain in place throughout the holiday season.

The Greenville Police Department will monitor key signalized intersections, like the ones around Magnolia Park and The Shops at Greenridge through Black Friday weekend, Nov. 22–25, and provide directional guidance using electronic message boards, according to a news release.

S.C. Department of Transportation traffic engineers have monitored traffic cameras along Woodruff Road to observe traffic patterns and determine when the roadway is most congested. The less traveled times of day on Woodruff Road are weekday mornings between 9 a.m. and noon and on Saturdays before 10 a.m. Traffic is heaviest on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. into the evening hours, the release said.
