Sunland Logistics Solutions is the 3PL partner you need

Sunland Logistics Solutions is the 3PL partner you need

By Amy Sartain, VP of Operations, Sunland Logistics Solutions

One question I am often asked is, “What makes Sunland Logistics Solutions such a great choice for third party logistics services?

I have several answers for that one.

First, we’re flexible. Sunland Logistics Solutions is big enough to provide the major 3PL services your company needs, but we can customize the best solution for your specific needs rather than offer a “one-size-fits-all” solution.

SartainWe’re knowledgeable. Our team brings a great breadth and depth of 3PL knowledge and experience to the table.

We are dynamic. We started in 1982 with one warehouse in Greenville; we now have 14 locations across the country and are growing.

So, what we do, better than others, is not only assist our customers in developing the right solutions for their business, but continue to help evaluate and modify those solutions as business needs change. For example, we started working with a vacuum and lawn care products company that had literally started out in a garage; over the course of the last few years, we helped them grow into 150,000 square feet of space, shipping to 15 retailers. Throughout that relationship, we’ve had to redesign warehouse racks and space layout as well as grow more space and grow the team.

Finally, we have a strong presence in South Carolina. If you don’t think that’s important, I encourage you to take a closer look — especially if you have an ecommerce business. Consider the following:

  • If you are in ecommerce, you are probably buying products from outside the U.S. This means the first important link in the supply chain is port entry. South Carolina has great access to the Port of Charleston and has invested heavily in that growth and capacity. The result is you may have a four-to-five day wait for containers to enter Charleston, compared to up to 40 days in other areas — Los Angeles, for example.
  • Where are your warehouses/storage facilities? If you are in South Carolina, you not only have quick transport from port to warehouse/distribution, but you are within a two-day drive of two-thirds of the U.S. and, you’re probably spending around half of what you would spend elsewhere.
  • South Carolina has worked hard to encourage and develop its workforce, build a favorable business climate and maintain a high quality of life. These are industry and nationwide trends, but South Carolina has truly excelled here.
