Everybody knows some good stuff gets dropped off at Goodwill.

In Greenville, some of the choice merchandise will be found on the shelves and racks of Auten’s Loft, a boutique to be dedicated May 8 by Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina in the Woodruff Road Goodwill Retail Store at 1902 Woodruff Road.

It is the organization’s third boutique-style specialty store, according to a news release, the other two being in Lexington and Chapin.

Auten’s Loft is named in memory of Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina founder Lloyd Auten, and offers affordable designer and name-brand women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories and select home décor in a more stylish setting, the release said. Products, taken entirely from donations, are tailored to those who are looking for trendy, fashionable and designer apparel and furnishings.

“As we celebrate the grand opening of Auten’s Loft in Greenville, we are not just unveiling an upscale thrift boutique; we are opening doors to opportunity and empowerment,” Pat Michaels, president and CEO of the organization, said in the release. “Each purchase made at Auten’s Loft fuels our goal to educate and train individuals, providing them with the tools they need to secure sustainable employment. Through ventures like this, we are not only offering premium finds, but also building bridges to brighter futures, making a profound impact on workforce development throughout South Carolina.”

Prices at Auten’s Loft are determined by current trends, as well as by considering designer and brand names, the release stated. Prices at the boutique range, on average, from $3.99 to $24.99. Only card/digital payments will be accepted.

Starting on May 8, Auten’s Loft will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. A grand opening event is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 8.

Goodwill Industries of the Upstate/Midlands South Carolina is a locally owned and operated non-profit within the Goodwill Industries International Inc. network. Goodwill operates 40 retail stores across 16 counties in the Upstate and Midlands.
